Webinar: Accountability & Impact at a Small Foundation

Event Dates:
March 10, 2026

What does accountability for impact look like when you’re balancing limited resources, relationship-building, and values-aligned work?

Foundations are increasingly asked to demonstrate impact, but for small organizations, traditional models of accountability often aren’t possible. This webinar offers a grounded, real-world look at how WomenStrong International approached accountability and evaluation in ways that aligned with their scale, values, and relationships.

WomenStrong staff and evaluation partners share lessons from the design and learning journey of WomenStrong’s most recent outcome evaluation, with a focus on framing goals, navigating power and relationships, and understanding impact over time. This webinar explores how WomenStrong clarified their role in the system and why the evaluation centered organizational change rather than community- or population-level outcomes.

The conversation also surfaces what is uniquely possible because WomenStrong is a small foundation, where constraints showed up, and how expectations from boards, partners, and internal stakeholders were actively managed and reframed along the way.

During the session, panelists explore questions such as:

  • How does WomenStrong define their role in the system?
  • What is made possible (and what is constrained) because of WomenStrong’s size as a small foundation?
  • How might boards, partners, and internal teams be brought along in evolving conversations about accountability?
  • What does it take to return evaluation learning back into a foundation’s broader system?

Facilitated by the Center for Evaluation Innovation, this conversation is designed for foundation staff, evaluators, and learning partners who are rethinking how accountability for impact can be both rigorous and realistic—and how learning can meaningfully return to a foundation’s broader system.
